Your trust matters. We will never sell or rent your personal information and we only collect what we need to operate The Connection.
2. Information We Collect
- Account details: email address, display name, and profile photo you provide.
- Content you create: posts, comments, events, communities, and messages.
- Usage data: app interactions, device information, and crash or performance diagnostics.
- Location: if you enable it, we use coarse or precise location to recommend nearby communities and events.
3. How We Use Information
- Authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
- Deliver features like communities, events, messaging, and prayer requests.
- Suggest relevant content and nearby experiences (when location is enabled).
- Protect the community with moderation, fraud prevention, and abuse reporting workflows.
- Communicate about updates, security notices, and support responses.
4. Sharing
We share data only with trusted vendors (hosting, analytics, notifications, email) who help us run the service. They must follow confidentiality and data-protection requirements and cannot use your information for their own marketing.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account from Settings, we remove personal identifiers and either delete or de-identify content from public view subject to legal requirements and safety investigations.
6. Your Choices
- Update your profile details in Settings.
- Delete your account any time from Settings → Delete Account.
- Control location permissions from your device settings.
- Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your data.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Connection is for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it quickly. Parents or guardians can email us to request removal.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring to safeguard your data, but no platform is perfectly secure. Please use a strong password and keep your device updated.
9. Changes
We will update this policy when we improve how the app works. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email so you can review them before they take effect.
